Overseas Opportunities with the Dorothy Lorimer Bursary. There is a way for aspiring researchers to intertwine with international colleagues through The Dorothy Lorimer Bursary.

LIVE from #ASMIRT2026, Steve joins past-ASMIRT President Carolyn Heyes to discuss Dr. Laura Di Michelle's amazing experience in bringing back overseas research from Optimax; and unpack how radiographers can get packed, and return home with more than just a gift-shop souvenir.

As Chief Radiographer at the Alfred Hospital, Dorothy Lorimer was a passionate mentor who would study abroad and bring her findings back home to Australia. As part of her estate, the Dorothy Lorimer Bursary continues her legacy of curiosity, providing radiographers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore research beyond the boundaries of Australia.

RadPod is ASMIRT’s podcast series created for the medical radiation sciences community; radiographers, radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists, sonographers, and students.

We cover many topics and issues related to the medical radiation professions, some clinical but many non-clinical. We speak with experts, researchers and those with lived experience. Many of the themes we explore will resonate across the healthcare sector, so feel free to share RadPod with your wider network.
